The Associated Students of the University of California, Merced, is the undergraduate student government.

As the official voice of undergraduate students, ASUCM's primary purpose is to improve student life. The ASUCM administration is comprised of the Executive Branch, the Senate and the Court. Members of the Executive Branch and Senate are elected by the student body during Spring semester. Members of the Court are appointed by the president. Vacant seats on the Executive Branch are appointed by the newly elected president. If there are vacant seats in the Senate, a special election is held in the Fall semester and is open to incoming freshmen. Visit each section to read about each group's responsibilities.

All executive officers are responsible for formulating and directing programs as established in the annual operating budget. All executive officers also have the authority to appoint a staff to assist in the carrying out of the duties and responsibilities of the office held.
