Lindsey Huizar

Senator at Large

Hello! My name is Lindsey Huizar, a second year Political Science and Sociology major from the Los Angeles area (West Covina, California). It is my intention to bring a change that can be seen through my years left year at UC Merced. I’m excited to grow and be part of the legacy UCM has to offer for the current and future students. I would like to get students excited and proud of being part of this university and part of my ideas are to establish solid relationship between students and faculty. I want to hear and understand the needs of most of my fellow classmates and fight with them to end any injustice they had experienced in the past to build stronger and better individuals, as we someday could be the person someone else looks up to. As I continue my career path at UC Merced, I hope to work closely with student panels and have discussion with the different clubs and organizations on ideas or concepts they would like to see out of our department at ASUCM. My platform this year also includes working with our current Staff and Workers Union on campus allowing them the space needed to advocate with students on issues they face. Come get to know me!
