Fire System Testing - Tomorrow

Fire System Testing - Academic Core There will be two active projects this Saturday, January 9, 2010 directed by the Campus Fire Marshal:   Library Building: 8:30 to 10:00 AM. Occupancy of the building will not be affected.  Entry to the Library, Classroom, and Academic Office Annex will be affected.  The campus Fire Marshal along with Facilities Management and the Merced County Fire Department will be conducting fire water flow tests. The test is part of our 5 year fire system inspection and will involve flowing water from the fire water stand pipes on the roof of the Library Building.  Water will flow through a fire hose off the roof on to the land north of the building.  Ranchers Road will be closed at Muir Pass on the southwest and Ansel Adams on the northeast. Scholars Lane will be open through the Academic Core to Ansel Adams Road for access to the Library, Classroom, and Academic Office Annex, and the back of campus. Anyone needing access to the Library, COB, or Academic Office Annex during this time period will need to enter the buildings from Scholars Lane. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.   Science and Engineering Building: 5:00AM to 3:00PM The fire alarm system will be in test during this time period.  There will be no impact to building occupancy. Please call Facilities Management at 228-2986 with any questions or concerns.
