ASUCM Passes Resolution Supporting Bike Paths to UC Merced

March 4, 2015

Hello Bobcats,

I'm happy to announce that last Wednesday the ASUCM Senate unanimously approved Resolution #09 "Support for Future Cycling Paths to UC Merced." This resolution states that the Associated Students of UC Merced encourages the City of Merced to not only improve current bike paths to Campus, but that the University of California, Merced also take into consideration the cycling community as the campus expands. Furthermore we are urging the City to apply for the Safe Routes to School project grant. Furthermore your ASUCM Senator Phil Coba, in conjunction with the External Office of ASUCM, has presented this to the Board of Supervisors for Merced County, and it has been brought to the attention of City Council. This is just the first step in securing safe bike paths for our cycling community, and we look forward to the City of Merced addressing the needs of the students at our beautiful University. If you have any question please contact ASUCM Senator Phil Coba or Local Affairs Liason Sagir Kadiwala.
